Japanese ceramics and artisan made housewares
After completing a program in interior design at Musashino University of Art, Yumi Nakamura worked as a designer for a housing equipment maker in Tokoname for several years. Her time in Tokoname, famous for its handmade ceramics and with its strong artisan community, fostered an interest in handcrafting her own designs. She later returned to Tokyo where she took up metalcrafting. Nakamura currently works out of her studio in Nara City where she produces a small line of metal tableware and utensils.
