Small Iron Glaze Tea Bowl / (Diameter 11.5cm)

Chawan (Tea Bowls) hold a special place in the world of Japanese ceramics. Representing more than just a simple vessel for serving green tea, chawan have always been a challenge to potters to produce their finest work.

In producing this series of tea bowls potter Natsu Hasegawa employed a variety of glazes including apple ash, pine ash and iron and Kohiki but the resulting work has a uniformly calm and soothing presence. Each piece is well proportioned and comfortable to hold and use.

* This tea bowl does not come with a Tomobako (kiri wood storage box).
