Placing an order
Complete your shopping, placing the items you want to purchase in the shopping cart.
Proceed to checkout, where you can confirm the shipping cost to your registered address select your desired payment method and submit the order. You will received an automated confirmation mail stating the contents of the order and the shipping charge.
New users without an account will have to first fill in their shipping information and create a password for the system to calculate the shipping costs.
Shipping cost are determined by the weight and dimensions of the items in the order so once you have added your address you can add and remove items to the cart and and proceed again to checkout to see the adjusted changes to the shipping costs.
New users ( Login)
Visitors who have not previously shopped with us or who have made purchases but not set up an account will need to provide shipping information in order for our system to calculate shipping costs. Returning visitors with existing accounts can login with their email and password to have their customer detail retrieved and applied to any new purchases. Changes to your customer information including your ship to address can be made on login.
When you place an order, most credit cards will NOT be immediately charged. Instead, an authorization request for the amount of the order will be made with your credit card company. This may appear on your online account as a pending charge. Upon shipment of your order, the charge will be finalized and will formally post to your account. *note:There are some credit and debit cards issued by banks in some countries where the charge will appear on your statement or online account immediately after the order has been placed.
Orders are usually shipped within 1 to 3 days of the order date.
All shopping cart transactions will be completed in Japanese yen. The US dollar price is also displayed to give purchasers an idea of the price in a familiar currency. US dollar prices are adjusted daily and will reflect up to date exchange rates but are only meant to provide an approximate value. The exchange rate prevailing at the time an order is confirmed will determine the final price for all purchases.
Shipping cost are determined by the weight and dimensions of the items you order. Our shipping calculator will provide an estimate of the shipping charge at the time an order is placed. Our system is dynamic and will adjust shipping charges as items are added or removed from your cart. Proceed to checkout after changes to your shopping cart in order to see the adjusted changes to the shipping costs. For the majority of purchases, the estimated shipping cost and final shipping cost will be the same
In a small number of cases, the shipping charge may have to be adjusted to reflect the unique shipping requirements of items requiring special handling or very large orders that may require multiple packages to ship safely. In such cases we will update the shipping charge and then contact you by email for your approval before proceeding to ship your order. Our goal is to ship items to you as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible.
You will receive a shipping confirmation mail with tracking information upon order shipment.
Large or special orders
For large orders, orders of multiple items in various materials or orders that contain bulky items such a wood boxes combined with delicate ceramics, we encourage you to place the order online even if the shipping charge may appear high or excessive. These orders will be flagged and we will find the most expeditious way to ship the order. Alternatively, you are also welcome to mail us with such orders and we will process the order and shipping manually. For special orders contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org .
Taxes / VAT
Orders shipped to addresses outside of Japan are not charged the Japanese 10% VAT (Value Added Tax).
Your package may be subject to local import duties, VAT, tariffs and in some cases service charges by the local delivery services. Payment of such charges is the responsibility of the recipient and is usually collected upon delivery. Customs policies vary widely from country to country and we cannot provide estimates for these charges, as they are determined by the customs authorities and are subject to change without notice. Therefore we suggest that you check the requirements in your country before placing an order. We understand that these additional fees can be unexpected and inconvenient, but please note that they are a standard part of international shipping and are not under our control. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter.
Post Office Service Charges
The post office and delivery services in some countries charge a service charge for customs services. Please note that these charges are subject to change and may vary depending on the specific product and country of origin. We recommend that you check with your local customs authorities for the most up-to-date information on import charges in your country.
The delivery services in the following are among those that also charge a service fee to cover the cost of processing and handling your shipment through customs.
Chronopost (FRANCE): For shipments to France, Chronopost may charge a customs clearance fee of €20 in addition to any applicable customs duties and taxes. This fee covers the cost of processing and handling your shipment through customs.
ParcelForce (UK): For shipments to the UK, Parcel Force may charge a clearance fee of £12 in addition to any applicable customs duties and taxes. This fee covers the cost of processing and handling your shipment through customs.
Bpost (Belgium): Bpost's handling fee for customs clearance is currently €24.50 for packages containing goods subject to VAT and/or customs duties. This fee covers the cost of processing and handling your shipment through customs.
Please inspect your order upon delivery. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may return it for a refund. Notification by email is required within 7 days of receipt of the shipment on all refunds. All items must be returned in "as-new" condition in their original packaging. Items that show wear and tear will not be accepted for refund. Buyer assumes responsibility for all return shipping fees as well as any other expenses incurred to return the item to Analogue Life.
Prices on Analogue Life are subject to change without notice.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order in the following situations, without being liable for any damage or costs:
*Your billing information is not correct or not verifiable;
*We could not deliver to the address provided by you.
*Purchases are being made for resale. ( Due to the limited quantity of many items that we sell and agreements with the artists /makers /suppliers as to the final selling price and other conditions, they are available to be sold to end users only. We cannot accept orders that are intended solely for re-sale. This includes multiple orders of the same item to be shipped to re-packing services within Japan.)
We reserve the right to refuse bulk orders.
Multiple orders placed for the same product on items limited to one (1) per customer will be cancelled entirely without question.
The images used on this website are the property of Analogue Life and are protected worldwide by copyright laws. Any use of one or more of these images, in particular the downloading, processing and dissemination for commercial purposes, is not permitted without prior permission.
Orders made from commercial websites using our images without permission will be cancelled without notice.
STOCK AVAILABILITY: SOLD OUT / OUT OF STOCK
We sell many handmade items that are made in small studios by individual artisans and potters. For the most part these items are not made in great quantities and do sell out quickly.
Generally items marked as out of stock are products that will be made to the same specifications and can be restocked. This can take a few days, several months or up to 1 year depending on the item. Those marked as sold are usually pieces that are not produced regularly as products but were made for exhibition and might not be produced in exactly the same style again.
Feel free to check with us about out of stock items ( email@example.com) although many of the craftsmen give only very rough estimates as to when new products might be available.
