Atsushi Funakushi has been producing functional wheel-thrown tableware at his studio in Kasama City since 2009. A fondness for old objects and antique wares shows its influence on his vessels and objects. The majority of his work is produced in shades of black, white and silver.

A delicate network of fine lines will appear throughout the glaze over time. This is called "kannyu" or crazing, and it's a natural characteristic of Atsushi Funakushi’s white pottery.
