Kurosuzu Futamono (Lidded Vessel) / dia 6cm x h 6.5cm

Stepping away from the "everyday tableware" collections that he normally produced for his ceramic exhibitions, Ooura-san chose to produce a series of one of a kind vessels for his recent exhibition at Analogue Life. While the vessels are still primarily functional tableware, each pieces is finished uniquely and there are no multiples. Instead, he chose to experimenting with glazes, finishes and new forms, and crafted each piece individually, according to his "feelings at the moment" of production. This allowed him the freedom to try some new things and get clarity on how he would like to approach his future work. This series of smaller pieces from the exhibition demonstrate both his abilities and the new direction of his future work. (*Please note that although some pieces have uneven or cracked edges, all the ceramics are both functional and food safe.)
