Brass Tabletop Mobile Sculpture with Handblown Glass Base / size: W17cm x H23cm
Kanehen carefully assembles each mobile, balancing thin brass sheets cut into abstract shapes, often inspired by leaf motifs. Gracefully poised, the mobile responds to the lightest breeze, setting it into gentle motion. The brass pieces twist and turn, their forms shifting as they shimmer in reflected light or deepen in shadow. Marks, scratches, and other imperfections on the brass are intentionally preserved, or subtle patterns are selectively added to enhance the texture.
The mobiles come in two finishes: a natural, unpolished brass that will deepen in tone as it develops a patina over time, and a black-dyed version, finished with a protective coat of beeswax.
