Kazunaga Ota
Kazunaga Ota worked at a bag manufacturing company before beginning his artistic endeavors in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture in 2011. Four years later in 2015, he relocated to a community within the same city that was richer in natural surroundings. It was then that Ota took up the practice of plant dyeing. His materials are the hides of deer and wild boar culled as pest control in the area. On these hides, he dyes intricate patterns using the very plants and flowers that flourish in the mountains around him. The creator hopes to share some of the joys of this mountain living lifestyle through his work imbued with the local flora and fauna.
