Atsushi Honda uses a variety of dead-stock material and reclaimed wood, to shape his simple, textured cutting boards and utensils. The aged woods, often exposed to the elements, have developed a unique character over many years. Furthermore, by intentionally leaving the saw marks from the milling process, each piece features a distinctive texture and a warm, rustic charm. The upper side of most pieces have a naturally textured surface, while the back has been smoothly sanded.

Kobo Isado (Atsushi Honda)
Born in 1968. After working in various roles including the advertising department at Parco, a vocational training school, and a woodworking studio, he established a woodworking workshop, "Kobo Isado," in 2003.

"I create a variety of works, without distinguishing between new and reclaimed wood. Grain, color, hardness, thickness, scent, scratches... Every piece of wood possesses its own inherent charm. My job seems to be finding that charm and giving it form."
