Tea Bowl

Artist: Naotsugu Yoshida
20,000 yen ($182.55 USD)

After graduating from Tokyo Zokei University, Naotsugu Yoshida studied under well known ceramic artist Taizo Kuroda. In 2003 he built his own kiln at the foothills of Mt.Fuji and began production of his ceramic tableware and vessels which he exhibits regularly in Japan.

Yoshida’s tea bowls with their simple imperfect forms embrace the aesthetics of traditional Japanese tea culture while remaining thoroughly modern. The bowls are made as objects that can serve any function the owner chooses.
Yoshida's white series contrasts a white matte porcelain exterior with a glazed black interior.
