Shirokake Plate / Ø13.5cm

Potter Toru Hatta has a fondness for old and antique wares which is reflected in his own work. The kurokake series is made using iron-rich mud applied to the raw material and wood-fired in an anagama kiln. The results are interesting surfaces and textures that range from smooth to a rough matte across the surface of each piece.
**note: The unglazed spots (me-ato) on the surface of the plates are marks resulting from stacking the plates in the kiln. The marks are intentional and not a defect.

**As the pieces are wood-fired, variations in appearance are to be expected.
