Kyoto based paper-craft artist Wataru Hatano produces handmade washi paper which he uses for a wide range of objects including boxes, tea mats, table tops as well as in interior design projects. Wataru made the thin flat tops for these small portable tables, layering washi paper on an aluminum base and applying a persimmon tannin for durability and water resistance. A pigment is added for color and the panels are finished with oil. The table tops are quite durable and can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth. The table tops are designed to be portable and the paper panels still loosely on a metal frame
