Daizara (12.5cm)
Small, thick plates that can be used for serving sweets or appetizers or as a stand for teapots.

Potter Yoshimitsu Ishihara uses locally dug clay from the area around his home in Fukuoka prefecture to produce his ceramic vessels. Although some work is made on a wheel, much of his work is hand-built and wood fired resulting in organic shapes and varied surface tones and textures.

After graduating from the Tama Art University Department of Sculpture, potter Yoshimitsu Ishihara went on to attend the masters program at Kyoto City University of Arts. He later returned to his hometown of Fukuoka where he built a Makigama (wood-fired kiln) and began production of his ceramics.
