Watanabe Wine Cooler
A wine cooler crafted from domestically sourced, unpainted sawara (Japanese cypress) with beautiful straight grains, tightly fastened with bamboo hoops. While metal wine coolers tend to accumulate condensation over time, the wooden coolers keep the bottle and its contents cold without dripping water on the table.
Each container is handmade by skilled artisans, and the beauty of the bamboo hoops that hold the container together and the sturdy construction using bamboo nails show the craftsman's exceptional skills. The ashitsuke (foot) part of the container's legs that is slightly raised from the ground is carved out directly by the craftsman using a chisel.
After use or washing, allow to air dry before storing. Store the container in a well-ventilated area, avoiding direct sunlight.
