Mirror - Gold leaf
Gold Leaf Frame Mirror / 28cm x 100cm
Full length mirror with rounded corners. The cypress wood has a gold leaf coat that has been buffed to reduce the gloss for a softer matte finish.
Designed by Kazuto Yoshikawa and the "Mori E Iku Hi" workshop as part of a collaboration with Toyota to support the forests in the town of Odai. The company owns a large part of the forest which is located in an area called the "Biosphere Reserve", recognized by UNESCO. The area is divided into a conservation zone and a usage zone, with wood products including the mirror, produced from wood harvested in the usage zone.
A portion of the sales from products produced in the project will be donated to the Osugidani Mountaineering Center to be used for the protection of rare animals and plants, and the maintenance of mountain trails.
