Each of Taiki Sugishima’s small metal plates/trays have unique surfaces caused by chemical reactions in the tinned surface during production. The small plates have small feet on the bottom to raise them slightly from the table surface.
Taiki Sugishima
Metal artist Taiki Sugishima completed the doctoral program in Sculpture at Hiroshima City University Graduate School of Arts in 2001. He later studied the traditional Japanese metalware craft of tankin as well as forging techniques with two craftsmen skilled in the respective skills.Currently he produces a variety of work in different materials from cooking pots and utensils to objects, sculptural pieces, and work for architectural projects.
