Grey Supermarket Bag / w30.5 cm x h39.5cm (handle 9cm)

Kazumi Takigawa's original line of hand-dyed and waxed canvas bags took their inspiration from the plain brown paper bag. Wanting to mimic the look of ordinary brown paper bag while creating something re-usable and long lasting, Takigawa-san's experiments led her to a process that includes a traditional dyeing technique using tea and coffee as dyes, and finishing each bag with a wax treatment that stiffens the canvas. She has expanded the line up to include these grey toned bags dyed with Oolong tea and iron.

*The tone of the hand-dyed bags will vary from batch to batch.
*The dyes are not completely colorfast and the color will fade to a softer light tone over time.
*Some areas on the bag may have wax that is visible. The wax can be removed by applying heat to the area with a blow dryer.
*White lines and crease marks will appear by bending or scratching the bag in daily use. The lines can be removed by applying heat to the area with a blow dryer.
